Generex (GNBT):

Generex said this morning that they had now achieved 75% of the required number of per-protocol completers in its Phase III trial of Oral-lyn. The company noted that early results may suggest that the use of Oral-lyn will support a non-inferiority claim relative to standard of care injectable insulin. The company reiterated that patients taking Oral-lyn on average showed no weight gain and an actual decrease in Body Mass Index (BMI).

Allos Therapeutics (ALTH):

Allos said this morning that their lead drug Folotyn extends survival in non-small cell lung cancer patients. The results were released from a Phase II in which Folotyn was pitted against rival drug Tarceva. Allos noted that Folotyn had a 13% reduction in the risk of death in the primary efficacy analysis population. The results in are strong, but I think investors were looking for a little more detailed data out of the company when the announcement was made. The company also noted that Folotyn reduced the risk of death in non-squamous cell carcinoma by 35%.
