Generex (GNBT) asks Shareholders for a Blank Check Again

Late Friday evening Generex filed another Proxy document with the SEC’s filing system EDGARS. In that document (found here) the company asks shareholders to effect a reverse stock split with more confusing terms for shareholders. Generex (GNBT):

Generex said this morning that they had now achieved 75% of the required number of per-protocol completers in its Phase III trial of Oral-lyn. The company noted that early results may suggest that the use of Oral-lyn will support a non-inferiority claim relative to standard of care injectable insulin. Changes Made to Generex Biotechnology (GNBT) Treatment IND in Clinicaltrials.gov

So this may have slipped through a couple of investors watchful eye, but I have decided to provide a brief update on Generex’s IND treatment program for Oral-lyn which can be found here. The company is developing Oral-lyn in a Phase III clinical trial for the treatment of patients with diabetes. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (REGN):

Regeneron announced results from their Phase III study in gout patients this morning. The company said that their drug Arcalyst reduced Gout flares by up to 80% (p-0.0001) in patients when given an 80 mg dose in one Phase III study. The company also reported data from a gout pain study in 225 patients with Arcalyst that showed that the drug did not significantly reduce the intensity of gout pain. » Read more: Daily Pharma Watch

AEterna Zentaris Inc. (AEZS):

AEterna Zentaris said this morning that the FDA has approved the IND application for their Doxorubicin bolt-on compound AEZS-108 in bladder cancer patients. The drug is designed to more specifically target tumors which then in turn allows the doxorubicin in the drug to more specifically target the tumor cells.
